Jekyll and Hyde Lessons

During my internship, I had worked on helping my mentor teacher during his Jekyll and Hyde Unit. One of these things I did to help students understand the material was to do annotations along with the students, and talk about how certain themes present themselves, especially concerning the way people act. During this, I also offered assistance in understanding the text by relating the novel to everyday actions students might take in their daily lives.

Below are the plans for what a typical day looks like when I'm annotating along with the students.

Growing Understanding of Victorian Literature

In this lesson, I break down the structure of how the novel is written and define possibly difficult words. I slowly take an hour to make sure everyone understands how a Victorian might characterize a character by modernizing Mr. Utterson's habits.
